I have also to find that you are planning on publishing another WWII story can you give us any hints on the story line? As well as this, being an avid reader I very much hope that you would strongly consider making a sequel to out with the easy. It's left me with so many "what-if's" and "I-wonder's". I would also like to say that, Between Shades of Gray is my all time favorite book Thank you for that!!:)

Hi Ariana,
Yes, I've just finished another novel set at the end of WWII. I can't yet spill the beans as to the plot, but I will say that it's based around a big historical secret and a character from "Between Shades of Gray" appears in the new novel. :-)
Thank you for your kind words about "Out of the Easy." I would LOVE to write a sequel. I have so many continuing storylines that I'd like to pursue with each character.
Thanks again,
Ruta

Hi Ruta, I am a 7th grader and I had a question for you. It has always been an interest of mine to have a little back story to authors loves so what did you want to be before becoming a writer and what age did you write a book that was more than at least 100 pages? My teacher and all my favorite authors inspire me and I have written a story that at least 130 pages and those are my reasons behind my questions.

Hi Ruta! I just finished Salt to the Sea and I thought the end was very thought provoking and discussion worthy (which I love). I was wondering when did you first know that you wanted to be a writer? How long did it take you to write each book? I think you are a powerful writer and have inspired me to write more often. I struggle a lot with developing strong characters (especially names). Do you have any tips? Thanks!
