How did you come up with the idea for the books Rescue and Words On Fire? I love them. Also, did you do research to know so much about what happened in those time periods, or did you already know a lot?
Jennifer A. Nielsen
Both books have different origin stories - you can read a lot about them on my blog (jennielsen.com/blog) but the basic answer is that I love history so I'm constantly on the watch for great stories that took place in history, or time periods that interest me and make me want to learn more.
Before beginning research, I knew very little or even less than that. So as always with my historicals, I do tons of research before beginning to write, to be sure that what I am writing about is the way that time in history really was. To do anything less would be to cheat my reader.
Thanks for asking!

Hi Mrs. Nielsen
I know I've asked a few questions on here, but more just keep popping into my head. I hope you don't mind!
So I just finished reading Mark of the Thief Trilogy and was wondering if you'd ever write another book for that series? I'd love to see Nic and Aurelia get married, along with Crispus and Livia. I'd also love to see what their life is like now that they're out of the Roman Empire. Thanks

Hi! I love reading your books! In Resistance, I understood the feelings Chaya was having. You write in a way that make readers feel like they were actually there! I understood how the Resistance groups acted during World War 2. You are my ultimate favorite author!!! Just one question: Have you ever consider having book signings in south Canada? I am your biggest fan!!!!!
