P.C. Cast Yes, Aphrodite named herself after a goddess on purpose. She had a lot of growing and maturing to do - as did all of the HoN kids - and they do grow and mature over the course of the 12 original books and 4 Other World books. So, it's not that she was "snotty" in the early books. She was immature and selfish, and very lonely.
