First, I hate the term writer's block. It's more like mind mud. You know where your characters need to go, but getting there is like walking through cement.
But, when I do get a horrible case of mind mud, I write the craziest scene I can think of. (What if my MC suddenly grew horns while having a casual conversation?) Being needlessly weird usually kicks my brain back into gear, and I sometimes end up with some decent scenes I can use (even if I don't keep the horns).
