Stuart Turton The timeframe of the novel is intentionally vague, just because I think it’s more interesting to let the reader speculate about that stuff. For me, the genre was always murder mystery first and foremost. The other stuff is definitely there, but it’s a sort of genre garnish :)

Hello,i wanted to say after reading The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle it reminded me when i was a teenager and reading Agatha Christie's books... it was brilliant! keep going ,can't wait to read your other books but i need to ask , in the beginning the book had a lot of funny sarcastic tone ,but that suddenly disappeared ,was that intended? i really loved that tone by the way.
