Goodreads asked A.R. Ivanovich:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

A.R. Ivanovich To combat writer's block, I prepare a little cocktail of inspiring music, thorough outlining, and determination. Sometimes I'll take a break, go for a walk to clear my head. When I sit back down, instead of giving up, I muscle through it. Since I outline the main plot in advance, I can always soldier on to the next scene. Some things to keep in mind: If you're blocked because of a tricky scene, try to simplify it. If you're blocked because you're just plain uninspired about the scene you're writing, try hitting your outline again to enliven your story. A bored, uninspired writer makes a bored, uninspired reader. Keep that passion in there!
