I'm so sorry ... I just found this question (I don't visit here often.)
To deal with writer's block I just sit down and write even if I know it's going to be boring and I'll have to rewrite it. Sometimes this means I rewrite a scene 3 or 4 times. But it also means I wind up getting magic sniffing cats in scenes that would have been boring and tedious. (By the third rewrite I've usually found a way to make myself not bored.)

I typically hate how sci-fi and fantasy are combined into a single genre, but the "I Bring the Fire" series is a masterful combination of the two. I thoroughly enjoy the biomedical research and veterinary medicine background of Amy, and the parallels between science and magic in the stories. Where did your passion for science and specifically veterinary medicine come from?

Any chance you'll be coming to Phoenix Comic Con next month? Besides the booths on the floor where some writers sell books and autographs there is always a Drinks with Authors thing at one of the hotels. (The con has gotten huge so it now takes up all three convention center buildings downtown and several ballroom in the nearby hotels.
