I worked alongside people who were in a strict religious denomination for nine years. They believed in the literal meaning of the Bible and as far as possible, separated themselves from non believers such as myself. I therefore thought it would be a good idea to write a novel about a young man who decided to break free. In doing so he became estranged from his family and friends as he became part of the real world.

Hi RIçhard do you know much about Jehovah's Witness,s I ask because I notice you a fascinated by religion as am I. The JWs àre a cult who control by keeping members captive due to shunning . with this in mind they are an intersting religion to look into. Check out the Australian royal commission to see how they treat their members. Maybe there's a story there?
