One of the things that immediately made me fall hard for SIMON was the importance of music to the characters (and I really loved the fact that Simon himself seemed to worship Elliott Smith much the same way I worship David Bowie.) So I was wondering: do you listen to music (and if yes what kind) when you write? Do you make playlists in relation to your books?

Becky Albertalli I love this question! I actually can't listen to music while writing, since I am very easily distracted. However, I definitely associate certain songs with my books, and when I'm drafting, I listen to them all the time in the car and during down time. And an official SIMON playlist should be releasing soon on both Epic Reads and the Waterstones blog!
