What’s the best thing about being a writer?

J.C. Andrijeski I love being a writer, honestly. I love making up worlds and people and whole histories and mythologies and political systems and conflicts...I love the work itself, the fact that I can live anywhere in the world and make my own hours. I love that I can study the most arcane topics and file it away as "research." I love being my own boss. I'm one of those writers who will literally will never be able to tell all of the stories I want to tell before I die, so I can't imagine ever doing anything else, given the choice. I just have to avoid senility...otherwise I'll do it until I die. (Note to self: "avoid senility." Check.)
