First off - LOVE your writing. When you say characters (and story lines) come to you already named (ie Lee Nightingale and Tatum Jackson), do you mean they are based on real people or just the idea you have is so strong and linked to those kick ass names that popped into your head? My other question is, what are some of your favorite books/series/authors that you would recommend to readers who love your work?
Kristen Ashley
Thank you for the love, darlin'. :-)
As for the names, no. They aren't based on real people or anything else. They are just them. Fully formed like real people I know in real life coming with names given to them from birth...they are just in my head.
As for other books/series/authors - I love Judith McNaught. She was a massive inspiration to me when I started writing. She's not published anything in a while but her books are timeless beauty. Utter perfection of strong heroine, totally amazing hero, humor, excellent writing and she never gave short-shrift to secondary characters. ALMOST HEAVEN, KINGDOM OF DREAMS, ONCE AND ALWAYS, SOMETHING WONDERFUL to name a few.
I also totally dig Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. I have to admit, I haven't kept up with it for the last 5-6 books because I don't have any time to read :-( but the first 8 or so books in that series I can highly recommend.
Not to mention, I dig Jill Shalvis's work. I like the way she thinks (or her characters think). And her books are laugh out loud funny.
Further, I read Jenn Bennett's BITTER SPIRITS. Loved it! I've downloaded the rest in that series but haven't had the chance to read them (:-(((()....YET!
Hope that gives you tons of reading fodder!

I discovered a discrepancy in the storyline for Motorcycle Man and Fire Inside. Can you tell me if it was an Easter Egg or just an honest mistake? In MM, Tack rides off with Lanie on the back of his bike after she and Tyra are kidnapped. In FI, Hop rescues Lanie from the man accosting her outside the bar and tells her to get on his bike, and she says she's only ridden on one bike--Big Petey's trike. What gives?
