I heard rumors about Simon vs. The Homo Sapeins agenda become a major motion picture! Are you involved with the production of this film? Even if you aren't, I'm still so glad this book is getting so much attention. It deserves all of it!
Becky Albertalli
Thank you so much! Right now, Simon is under option with Fox 2000 and Temple Hill (the same collaborators that did TFIOS!!), but it's in the very early stages. Unfortunately, optioned books don't always make it to the big screen, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Right now, our amazing screenwriters are working on the script. I'm not involved as a producer, but two of my agents (with whom I've worked very closely and trust with all my heart) are formal producers for the project. And Temple Hill is amazing! They've made it clear that, if this film makes it to production, they'd like my input!

I would just like to state that your book Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda is one of my absolute favourites and because of it, you've become one of my favourite authors! Anyway, to my question - I'm an aspiring author and wondered what advice you would give to other aspiring authors out there - and what helps you move past things such as vicious writers block?

I really enjoyed reading SIMON. Thank you so much for writing something so beautiful and important! I wanted to ask you a question about the scene where Leah abruptly leaves the lunch table (after Abby's comment) and Bram bites his lip. Simon interpreted it as Bram liking Leah but what was it really about? I would love to know :)
