I love the map of Mytica. Did you plan out how the world was going to look from the very beginning or did you slowly piece it together as you wrote on?

Morgan Rhodes I always imagined Mytica about the size of the UK, so that helped in envisioning the three kingdoms... I did a very rough sketch of this while writing the first book to help me with travel times and figuring out location names and the fabulous art department at Penguin Teen took it and made it much more beautiful to go into the book. Now that book four is soon to come out and we venture beyond Mytica's shores for the first time, I had to go back to my sketch pad and figure out what more of this world looked like...and again Penguin Teen worked their magic and there is a gorgeous expanded map in the new book to include part of the Kraeshian Empire and other spots that have been mentioned in the series!
