Goodreads asked India R. Adams:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

India R. Adams Oh, wow, where to begin...
First, make sure you love it. It can be grueling at times. There must be a deep rooted passion to see your manuscript through all the different steps of editing, advertising etc.
Second, be willing to learn.
Third, don't let anyone's opinion alter your dream. If this is what you want, write! Just keep writing! If you're not naturally gifted with it, you will eventually learn your craft. Where there's a will, there's a way, right?
Fourth, trust yourself. Be open to suggestions but also believe in your story—your message.
Fifth, have patience. It takes a long time to bring a manuscript—an idea to a certain level. I've been writing for over eight years, and I'm just now releasing my books.
Sixth, I go back to above. Love it! Chances are your books won't make you rich, so write because you have to—it's a part of you. Whether or not my books become financially successful, I will continue to write because it is a part of my soul. To stop is impossible for me.
