Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

J.N. Chaney Transient Echoes is the sequel to The Amber Project, so it had to follow that path. However, I didn't want to get trapped in the sequel zone and just retell the same story over and over. While the first book dealt with politics, child soldiers, and genetic engineering, the sequel tackles a whole new set of issues and themes. There's also more action, exploration, and hard science fiction, so be sure to check it out. Transient Echoes is up for pre-order now and releases March 28.
