Is it possible that you could write a historical romance series?

Nalini Singh I LOVE historical romances so much! I gobble them up. But if I wrote one, I'd want to make up stuff and change history and so it'd end up some alternate reality! I never say never though - who knows, I might get hit over the head with a great historical idea. :)
