Heather asked Lucy Snow:

How did you start writing? I mean did you just sit down and decide this what you wanted to do? I would like to write a book, I have started but I'm not sure if there are certain rules or if I should just keep it to myself and not even go beyond the few pages I've done.

Lucy Snow Thank you for the wonderful question, Heather!

I started because I love romance novels and I wanted to see if I could write one myself. The idea of starting from a blank screen and ending up with a fully realized story is very, very appealing to me.

As for the actual process of writing, I highly (HIGHLY!) recommend outlining your story before hand, as detailed as possible. I have the beginnings of 6 other novels, some with up to 20,000 words written, that I am scared to work on again, because I just started writing and didn't outline first, and now I don't know where the story is going!

On the other hand, with Redeemed, I outlined every chapter before I started writing. With Escape, I went even further - I outlined each chapter and then described the specific order in which things would happen, for the entire book, before I wrote the first word.
