If you were going to write a book based on an Urban Legend, which would you choose and what twists would you apply to make it more than just the urban legend we all know?

This is a tough one. There are so many urban legends out there and I haven't really thought about it. But I like the one legend about the babysitter falling asleep on the sofa and feeling the dog lick her hand, which was hanging off the sofa. But when she wakes up and goes to the bathroom, she finds the dog hanging in the shower, dead--leaving the question...who was licking her hand???
Anyway, I'm not sure what twists I could throw in this, I'd have to think about it... I guess you could either go supernatural or not.... what would you suggest?
