Ash asked Chantal Gadoury:

First off, thank you for writing an Allerleirauh adaption. That story doesn't get nearly enough love. Do you have plans to write any other fairy tale retellings or ones you would like to write about?

Chantal Gadoury Hello Ashley! Thanks for sending me in a question (I'm so sorry I've taken this long to respond to it!) I agree about "Allerleirauh." I grew up loving this fairy tale (mostly the dresses element!), and I noticed it wasn't a story that a lot of authors were writing about. I'm glad that I tackled it too!

As for plans in writing other fairy tales (or fairy tale retellings), I'd love to. Honestly there are a few fairy tales that I'd love to write and elaborate. I've thought about a "Snow White and Rose Red" retelling.. but I haven't quite found a fairy tale that is anything like "Allerleirauh" and how much it came to mean to me. I've thought about more Greek Mythology stories (my first novel, "Seven Seeds of Summer" is based on the Myth of Hades and Persephone) and I've often thought about either revisiting that world or creating another.

Thanks to Robin McKinley, I'd love to write something in regards to "Beauty and the Beast" or Susan Kay's "Phantom." (All stories that have been with me for years and years.)

I do have a "Mermaid" story outline. It's something that I'm slowly working on. For now, I'm putting my focus to a YA Contemporary which is mostly based on some things that happened to me while I was in High School.

But I hope to bring more Fairy Tales to the plate in the future!

Thanks for writing in!
