Hi, Charlie! Would you be willing to provide a pronunciation guide for the proper names in "Magic Bitter, Magic Sweet?" I can't seem to wrap my brain around a few of them!
Charlie N. Holmberg
My apologies for the pronunciations! I had to read them all out loud for the audiobook narrator, too. ;) All of the city names are real words, so those can be looked up online. For the main characters, Maire sounds just like "mare," Fyel is Figh-el (with emphasis on the first syllable), and Allemas is pretty phoenetic (I think?) Al-(like in "alligator") leh-mus.
If there are others you'd like me to cover, please just ask! Though I do recommend the audiobook--Kate Rudd does a most excellent job. ;)

I recently acquired and read all of the Paper/Material Magicians books. These two small things have been driving me crazy: 1. What was Emery's original intended course of study? 2. When does Tagis Praff graduation take place/are apprentices always placed with mentors relatively quickly, or is there some kind of break?

Not really a question, so I'm cheating, but hey. I just inhaled the Paper Magician trilogy. Nothing has gripped me like it since Harry Potter. I adore the characters and the universe. I would absolutely love more books in that universe. And I would love to know what that gender act does for Folding. Are you planning/hoping to write more stories in that world?

Hi! I have truly enjoyed your Paper Magician books. I find myself wishing, however, that I could also read the entire series from Emery's perspective. There is so much that takes place when he is away from Ceony that it would be fun to fill in those gaps. I'd also just love to know what he's thinking when he stays up all night folding paper dogs and snowflakes and such... :) Do you have any plans to do that?
