Rachael asked Rachael Craw:

Hi guys: I am posting some questions here on behalf of a reader, Tyler Waters who has been having trouble sorting things on goodreads and has been patiently awaiting answers to her questions. "Which book was the most annoying to write? When I mean annoying, I mean, When you were writing the book, which one made you think it wasn't good enough and you kept changing it? Does that make sense?"

Rachael Craw Hmmm, possible all of them? Ha. Spark took 5 years from the inception of the idea to when it appeared in bookshops. It was a period of great learning. I had the concept for my story but I was learning to write as I was writing it. Stray was the hardest book of the series because I had written the first draft in the same year that I wrote Spark and then I put it aside while I was having manuscript assessments and mentoring for book 1. So when I came back to Stray to get it ready for publication my writing had changed so much and the story had changed so much that it was a struggle to adapt. In some ways I wish I had been brave enough to just start from scratch but I feel like Stray is story I am most proud of because it nearly broke me but I survived. Ha!
