You rock I'm reading your Dynasty book and I can' t believe you made up your own language how hard was that?

Kristen Ashley It was definitely very involved! HA! I have pages of notes on words and how to conjugate verbs and the different tenses. Then again, for the Fantasyland series, I've got pages of notes on just about everything, the different religions, gods, countries, towns, rivers, oceans, even card games that I made up.

But although I felt the need to be as exacting as I could in making up the language, it actually came relatively easily. I have a vivid imagination, fortunately, so it kind of strangely flowed.

However, I did want to make sure that it was mostly very sing-song and soft. It's an odd accompaniment to that barren land with it's brutal way of life. I wanted to be certain the language that Circe heard in the background gave her an early subliminal indication that, no matter what she was experiencing, there was beauty and gentleness to the people around her, for whom she was their queen.

Recently, I had to record how all the words were pronounced so the narrator of the audiobooks could speak them. That was an interesting thing to do...and very cool! It brought them to life in a different way that was awesome.
