I read (and write some) historical fiction, so I have enjoyed the many historical aspects of the trilogy, along with the paranormal and romantic. What are some of your favorite resources, and how do you feel that one may best balance research and story-telling?

Deborah Harkness great question! What I always tell people is that I see the historical details and research like a seasoning in cooking. A little history goes a long way--just as a little tarragon or cilantro goes a long way! Ask yourself, when you write, "if this was set in modern times, would I take four pages to describe this room?" if the answer is no, then move along!
