Scientists run the technological innovations of Fotavis. They work on anything and everything, and their rules of ethics are...we'll just say lax.
They can be a lot of fun if you're into geeky stuff, but a total bore if you're a jock. The least intelligent work as lab assistants, some cases, even as lab rats.
The best innovation in Fotavis is probably the Fate Algorithm itself, the software (and hardware) is constantly updated to keep society running smoothly.

I'm no longer allowed to be in the Chemistry room alone at my school. It's a rule my principal made. Because I spilled hydorchloric acid on my hand, and also caused an explosion that got red stuff on the ceiling.
