Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
question
How old is Hagrid?
Hagrid was in school as a lower classman when Tom Riddle was there according to the Chamber of Secrets. I believe that he was a third year when Riddle was a 5th or 6th year. According the the Harry Potter Lexicon, Riddle was born 12/31/26 and Hagrid on 12/6/28.

He's in his sixties, but wizards live longer than muggles, so I'm assuming he's still alive by the end of the epilogue.
Hagrid was born in 1928 or 29, so he was around 70 at the end of the series (i.e. 1998).
The Triwizard Tournament has been around for 700 years, and it was conducted every 5 years. It's not mentioned when it was discontinued, but even if it was discontinued half a century before GoF, Hagrid would have seen one or two at least.

Hagrid was in his third year of Hogwarts 50 years before the second book, making him about sixty three in the second book. So he's sixty eight in the seventh.
Even though he's really old, he's part giant, so does that mean he lives longer than a regular human?

During the Chamber of Secrets, he was about 66. He was 16 when expelled from Hogwarts for being falsely accused of opening the Chamber, and that was about 50 years ago. But by the end of the series, I'd say about... 71-ish?
Hagrid was born on December 6th, 1928. He would be 83 years old.
I didn't think that old, but someone above said something about how he was thirteen when Tom Riddle was about fifteen, so he's kind of old but not very old. (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT) And he's even in the end of Deathly Hallows in "19 Years Later" so if we're talking about how old he was then he was about in his eighties I think and today literally today he is about in his seventies I'd say.

Most importantly, how old is Dumbledore?? Sounds like he's been in Hogwarts for AGES...
What house was Hagrid in? They show him speaking to Tom Riddle in a secured location in Chamber of Secrets. Was this something like the Room of Requirement, where Hagrid could nurture his pet in peace, did they have access to each other's houses (I always had Hagrid pegged for Griffyndor), or was Hagrid a Slytherine?
Hagrid does not strike me as ambitious. Brave, maybe, arguably clever in his own way, but not ambitious.

The Triwizard takes place EVERY FIVE YEARS. That's what Dumbledore said, guys. And it was discontinued in the 1700s, I believe. I think Hermione said that. And Hagrid said something along the lines of, "I never dreamt I'd live long enough to see the Triwizard Tournament continued," or something like that. I'm pretty sure they stopped it, though, after Cedric died
he would be 65 in the 4th year because in the 2nd movie and book hagrid said that he got expelled in his third year. So that means he was 13 when he was expelled. So if the chamber was opened 50 years later 50+13+2 (4th year)=65
I think he is really old, he should be in between 60s and 70s in 1997.
