Some of my favorites are James Patterson, Catherine Coulter, Allison Brennan, Karin Slaughter, Kay Hooper, Dean Koontz, Heather Graham, JT Ellison, and a few others

Bill Karin Slaughter is one of my favourites too Karen. I've read a few Patterson's and Koontz. I must try the others.

Heidi Hi! My name is Heidi Geib and I have been looking for a good book club. I am an avid reader and my favorite genre is crime/mystery/thriller books. This looks like it will be the perfect group for me.
I am currently reading Death of a Couch Potato's Wife by Christy Barritt. It is lighter than most of the murder mysteries that I normally read, but still good. My favorite author though of all time is Agatha Christie.

Bill Welcome to the club, Heidi. You're definitely in the right spot if you enjoy mysteries. Lots of good discussions here and with any luck you'll get lots of good ideas for future reading.

Welcome, Karen! I read about 4 of the same authors you list, so I'm sure we've got similar tastes!

Measure your awaiting book stack now, and I'm sure it will very quickly grow!

Welcome Heidi. Lots of great recommendations and discussion across the entire spectrum of mysteries/thriller. Cozy to noir we read them all.

message 11: by Mikela (new)

Mikela Hi everyone, I'm new to this group and have been searching for a group that "just feels right" and covers the broad specrum of mystery and thriller books. I enjoy the older mysteries such as Fantômas, noir, cozy mysteries by Agatha Christie and Dick Francis, foreign mysteries and right up to the recent books of Tana French and John Connelly. In other words, I love a good mystery/thriller. My bookshelves hold only a tiny fraction of the mysteries that I've read, but unfortunately I can't remember the titles of all that I've read so only shows those that I do remember or have read since joining GRs. Glad to be with you and hope I can contribute to the group.

Dipanjan | 44 comments Welcome Mikela. This is one of the best groups on GR for mystery/thriller lovers. Hope you enjoy yourself in here.

Joan | 94 comments Welcome Karen and Mikela. I'm rather new as well and not only love reading mystery/thriller books, I also write them. My new one, The Hierophant, is now available and I'm racing to finish the second one by this fall.

Hopefully, I'll learn more how to use this site.
