Goodreads Librarians Group discussion

Initially I wanted to add a cover for one of Joseph d'Arbaud's books, but then noticed that my "d'.." authors were sorted with the 'D's [except for old Joe]. Joe is sorted in the 'A's as he should be -- foreign names such as d'Arbaud or Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa should be listed by the prenom without regard to the article. However, Joe's name is incorrectly spelled as there is a space between the "d'" and the prenom "Arbaud". There should be no space, yet "d'Arbaud" should be found in the 'A's.

I wanted to run this by your database people first, as this may be a key field/element in the database setup.

The problem with sorting of names is known, but solution is not yet developed.
I have removed the space from the name.
