I very recently finished The Mark of Athena, and I loved it so much I think I should marry it. Rick Riordan promised that he's not keeping any secret manuscripts in his home just to be mean, but if that were true how the hell did he spin out this golden work of art in sixth months? Anyone with me on this and thinks Riordan is a troll?

(btw, I do not actually think he is a troll, I posted this to complain about his Rick-hangers. No, not cliffhangers. It is Rick-hangers.)

Daniela-Goddess of Reading Hmmmmmmm, that does make sense. From what I heard is that it takes five months for the book to be published, so he writes the othher 7 months....he probably just has a blue-print is all. But I do agree that he shouldn't have left us with that "Rick-hanger"

Emma I hate Rick-hangers. But this it actually was a cliffhanger too. (Like literally!)

Vanessa Andujo He says he writes an outline for the entire series before the publisher approved so he already knew exactly what he was going to write, he just needed to write in the details and edit it for consitancy. Almost all published authors for a series have to have an outline for publisher approval.

Alyssa I think everyone thinks he's a troll. Well, I do. I bet when he's not writing he's thinking about how badly he's going to kill our lives with the book -_- On youtube, there's this channel, CassJayTuck, who called them "life-ruiners" which I think is pretty accurate xD

yeah it was accurate, loved CassJayTuck's book review on MoA

Alyssa Yeah. She basically said everything I was thinking, including the part about nico having a crush on annabeth. Since when did that happen?

Micaela I would think that he already knowswhat is going to basically happens when he starts to write it and he's been writing for a while now so he is getting better and faster at it and it becomes easier to write.

Ms. Anderson NO. He is not a troll, he needs his time to make the next book and only wants us to be excited for the next one.

Life-ruining? There are many other good books out there other than HoO, people! Read THEM to pass time(no time to recommand i am LAZY)!

You're right! The Kane Chronicles, for one. The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. Skulduggery Pleasant. Septimus Heap. A Series of Unfortunate Events. Holes. So much more!

Aurora I've enjoyed all of the rick-hangers he's written, even if they annoy the heck out of me because I want the next book to come out. I think he really stepped it up for MoA. As a side note, he's said that he doesn't really consider the other books cliffhangers because he's not leaving any characters about to die. (That's his criterion for a cliffhanger.) I frankly disagree, since I think a cliffhanger is where we're left with something majorly unconcluded or unexplained that's revealed or happened in the last few pages on the book. Rick considers MoA a true cliffhanger, or course.

I thought Rick's Rickhanger for MoA was both awesome and annoying

It was a brilliant plot hold, but I'm still annoyed! We have to wait another year to find out what happens!

On a side related topic, am I the only one who wants Nico to be a narrator in House of Hades?

Kiernan Malik A troll, I'd have to consider that...
How about this-
He's the official scribe of Camp Half-Blood, He prayed to the gods to help him finish the book early. Boom, Zeus wanted to save his precious Olympus so he granted it...

Absolutely! I came up with that in like seconds. Who know what Rick the Troll could be hiding.

No, I always thought of him as a scribe of the muses.

Lol, he mentions in the Demigod Diaries that he was the official scribe of Camp Half-Blood.
But I guess you could go either way...
