❄Elsa Frost❄ (elsafrost) Hi,
My name is Elsa. I am a Catholic who enjoys reading Catholic books on various topics (fictional, apologetics, mariology, etc.). I've been through many ups and downs in which I began questioning everything I've ever believed in, but I believe all of it has made me much stronger in my faith and trust in Christ. I know the road is long and narrow, but I am willing to follow it.
Anyway, I hope to discuss many various topics (especially book topics) with the rest of you!
God's blessings,
Elsa

Mike Elsa welcome to this little group.

Thank you for the fine quote "I know the road is long and narrow, but I am willing to follow it". I know that many of us echo this same sentiment.

Susan Margaret (susanmargaretg) | 538 comments Hello! My name is Susan. I am a former Episcopalian and converted to Catholicism 25 years ago. After 25 years, I am still learning and still reading about our faith. I look forward to reading new books and future discussions.

Doreen Petersen | 458 comments It's very good to have you with us Susan! I'm a cradle Catholic myself but I think a part of Catholicism is always learning new nuggets of information that enrich our lives. It's really good to have you here.

Dani (thensingsmysoul) | 9 comments Hey guys, I'm Dani. I've recently made a pact with myself to take a step back from my hectic life and really try to work on my relationship with God. It's so easy to forget about why we're really here when we're running around all day doing various things. Joining this group, I hope to meet some great people and help grow in my faith. :)

Susie | 76 comments Hi everyone! I have been lurking in this group for about a year, but this is my first post. I chose to become Catholic when I was 30, over 20 years ago. As I reflect on my life, I believe I was always being pulled to Catholicism...it was just a matter of time! ;)
I enjoy reading about the faith and the history of the Church...there is always something new to learn! I feel most connected to Mary and the mystical theology side of things. I studied Centering Prayer with Father Keating in Colorado many years ago and have practiced it on and off since around 1989.
I am joining you in reading Life of Christ...I hope to read/listen to a little bit each day...enjoying it so far.

Leslie | 359 comments Hello everyone! I am in several book clubs, including Catholic ones, already but I am specifically interested in deepening my knowledge of Catholic Theology. I looked at what you've read and are reading and it was a good match for me. Life of Christ was already on my personal summer reading list, so I'll move it to the top and read along with you. Looking forward to learning and sharing with you. God bless.

message 129: by Irene (new)

Irene | 909 comments Hi, I am the Director of Lifelong Faith Formation at a Catholic parish in N.W. PA where I have ministered for 20 years. I am very interested in spirituality and theology. I am looking for a group to challenge my reading and encourage me to think critically. Too often, I find Catholic conversations devolving into defensive postures between libral and conservative, orthodoxy and orthopraxis, etc. I have only begun to read through your posts and have not found such posturing yet. I am really hoping to find a group where the fullness of the Catholic tradition can be respectfully articulated, where I can learn from those who view things as I do and those who view things differently.

message 130: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 359 comments Welcome Irene,

I enjoy thoughtful, but respectful, conversations as well. :-)

Welcome to Catholic Thought. I look forward to your input.

Irene | 909 comments Thank you for the welcome. I will probably wait for the next book discussion to begin before joining a group read since the ones currently posted seem to have been under way for some time.

message 133: by Doreen (new)

Doreen Petersen | 458 comments Irene it is indeed a pleasure and honor to have you in our group. Your input is highly valued and you can always join an discussion whenever you want. We're all Catholics in this together and I think by discussing the Catholic faith we are doing what Jesus wants us to do. Spread the faith in whatever way we can. God Bless.

My name is Elizabeth, but my family and friends call me Beth. I don't mind either one. I am a cradle Catholic. I love to read spiritual books that challenge me to be a better Catholic. I find the Saints fascinating to study, especially our Blessed Mother. She has been a wonderful mainstay in my life. Jesus Christ is my one true love, as my vocation is single. I am involved in the Real Christian Group, but would love to be involved in this group geared toward Catholicism, where my heart is.
