Nice to see a post from you Jenny! Enjoy your Christmas dinner. We'll have a week long Toppler in February and maybe you can get in on that.

Janice (jamasc) | 59970 comments Welcome to Shanna & Melissa. It's great to have first time "topplers"!

Lara | 1426 comments Okay, well I just read a book I was planning to read for the toppler--I really needed something ;-). Fortunately, it was a holidy themed book, and I have plenty of others to fill that gap.

Shanna_redwind | 228 comments One question about the 200 pages. Does the edition that I'm reading have to be 200, or does it just have to have a 200 page edition, because most of the books I'm looking at were published in the '70s and have the accompanying micro-print.

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19208 comments My reading of it Shanna is that you need to read at least 200pp for a badge. This means you can read a couple of books that are shorter for a badge, or you could read one book that is longer than 200pp for a badge. There is just a 200pp minimum for a badge.

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Just got home from work an hour ago and can finally sit down and catch up. It's great to see some new people joining in! And for those of you who can't participate the whole time - we'll be glad to see you whenever you can pop in and chat! Any reading will get you a participation badge.

Connie and Judy - somehow I don't think ya'll would be too reliable keeping watch over Debra and Almeta. They'd either sneak around you, or convince you to join in on any hijinks. ☺

Kat - I haven't even thought about what I'm going to read. The only thing I know so far is a magazine that I am going to make a couple of it's skin care recipes.

REMEMBER - if you're going to do a project you get an extra 6 hours to complete it. The book/magazine has to be read by 10am EST, but you won't have to use any of your reading time on making something.

Shanna, sorry but Rusalka is right.

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments Off to try and get some sleep. Setting my alarm for 9:45 and will see everyone then.

Lara | 1426 comments Janxmom, should we create reporting threads? Or do we just report here at the end of the 24hours?

message 110: by Thing Two (new)

Thing Two (thingtwo) Okay, I've got my book ready and so long as I make gumbo for dinner, my family said they'll leave me to read. Off to the races we go!

Roz | 4536 comments I don't think I'm going to be able to take part in this one, but I'll be popping in from time to time for a good laugh. You all have so much fun and say the funniest things to each other. Good luck to all of you, stay awake, read alot.

message 112: by jaxnsmom (new)

jaxnsmom | 8341 comments I'll be setting up a new topic for reporting and chatting during the Toppler. You can wait and report at the end, but then you'll miss out on half the fun :) Updating and chatting is encouraged during breaks, seeing what everyone else is up to, offering and receiving encouragement, finding out what we're reading and eating and drinking, and being really silly is a very important part of every Toppler!

message 113: by Kat (new)

Kat (katzombie) | 2478 comments Right, I'm ready! I'm going to start with A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets. Now just to make some tea and find some snacks ;)

Lara | 1426 comments Thanks Janxmom! I figured there would be a clear place to post progress reports and have discussion.

Even though I don't post much, I really enjoy reading the chatter. With such a short timeline, I'll have to restrict my GR reading time to focus on my books.
