Just thought I'd post up today's blog in case some of you havent seen it.

I was pretty impressed and stoked to see the replica jewlery. I know we've discussed pretty in depth Chronicler's Iron Wheel - at least somewhere on this board. So of course I immediately wanted to know some boardie opinions on how it looks.

But we really havent discussed Denna's Ring much - which looks beautiful IMO (even though bleeh to her character :P )

That may need to be rectified soon.

Off to the Denna thread....

Cool collection of Jewellery, I'd love the Iron Wheel. Dennas ring doesn't look like what I imagined it to.

Ions I'm glad I now have an official idea of what it looks like. I didn't give much thought to how the ring looked while listening to the books.

...although, I did think the stone was more like jade. :: shrug ::
this company really knows their craft, all their work is stunning.

Eric | 99 comments Pat Rothfuss: "Recently, Badali has recently made a few other pieces jewelry based on my books.

The first of these is Denna’s Ring:

Knotted ring

I have to tell you, they worked with me for a *long* time on this. Over the course of a year, they developed at least 6 different prototypes that I, like the precious little princess I am, looked at and said, “That’s beautiful, but it’s not quite right. Could we….?”

And then we’d chat about it, and they’d go make another version of the ring.

The truly impressive thing is that at no point did they stab me in the neck for being so freakishly obsessive about the design. They worked with me on the type of stone, on the style of the ring. On the feel of it. And, of course, on the knot work involved."

Interesting... Very interesting... For those of us paying attention to Denna and her fascination with Yllish Story Knots and their potential magical implications.

You know - I actually have been.

I noticed last night that when Kvothe recieves the letter from Denna, while in Ankers (in WMF) it actually says she is in Yll.

Didnt notice that before, but I'm pretty sure afterward is when Kvothe starts noticing the hair knots say actual things.

Well, he only notices the once - "lovely". And it's written a little ambiguously (well to me anyway). At first I thought he just guessed the meaning, was commenting that the knot was lovely, but he could translate it it seems after reading the following sentences.

Obviously more to the Yllish knots than we first thought! He snuck that in there. Cheeky Pat ;)
