I haven't watch Once Upon a Time, but I really enjoy Grimm. The previews didn't do much for me, but I had a few people telling me to check it out, and I'm glad I did.

Can't comment on Once Upon a Time, other than it is filmed locally i think.

Once Upon a Time is okay... I'm not caught up with it, but I used to watch it regularly. It just doesn't keep my attention. I wanted to like it more than I do. :-/

I'm addicted to crime dramas, and Grimm is nice in that it combines this plus the paranormal. The second season is better, but I still think they need to get a MUCH better intro.
I love Once Upon A Time in a very little girl squee kind of way. It makes me happy just thinking about it. I love the dual lives and seeing various ways things are changed. And the costumes, oh god the costumes.
Overall, I think Once Upon A Time is a better show- tighter writing, better acting, but I still enjoy watching both.

I had expected to Love Grimm and was non committal on Once before seeing either....
I like them both for very different reasons....
Grimm for much the same reasons I loved Buffy.... The back up cast is so great that though I am not sold on the hero his supporting cast is excellent and I watch it for them alone.....
Once I was surprised to love for multiple reasons including its hero. I absolutely love Mr Gold he plays everyone but at his heart there is still something essentially good despite his nature.... The emotional movements of the series occasionally move to actual tears for the lies of Snow and the often unlike able and inconsistent Charming..... Sure the series has its low points but its ever involving and surprising ,.... Love seeing all the great character actors joining the cars too....
I just have afew questions about Grimm because everyone is showing the love for it, I don't mind watching it but to me there are gaps in the storyline like whats so amazing about being a Grimm all he can do is see them, he doesn't have any special strength or powers, he just seems to be a normal human being, so why do the vessen freak out when they see him, I dont know maybe its their reputation and heritage but it seems 50/50 who's gonna win a fight.
I am enjoying it even though the actual storyline is a bit weak, im just thinking its starting like supernatural.

They freak out largely due to the reputations of Grimms. You've got to remember that Grimms have been killing Vessen for a very long time.
In addition to being able to see them, Nick has his Aunt's trailer. It is full of knowledge and weapons passed down for generations on the best ways to kill Vessen.
The inability to hide and the knowledge of how to be killed are what makes a Grimm so dangerous to a Vessen.

Yeah I guess that would make him intimidating but doesn't the book just usually tell them what kind of vessen they are and not always a way of killing them, I just remember a lot of them getting shot or beat up and you kind of expect the vessen to be stronger but they aren't. I dont know im guess im looking for more distinctions between them rather than just the way they look.

Well some of the nastier ones take extra measures to put down. But many Vessen are like Monroe or the Electrician guy who just want to live a normal life and are afraid of being killed.
I'd say all of them are susceptible to being shot and beat up though, some can just handle it better, and might tear you apart before you can try.

Yeah and why don't they do Martial Arts lol, Nah joking, thanks Rob just trying to figure it out.

Is Cora going to be Once A Upon A time's next super villain or is she just a mother trying to repair a fractured relationship with her estranged daughter?

OUAT wove a fabulous alternate world of fairy tales that just hooked me. The Beast from Beauty and the Beast turning out to be Rumplestiltskin was simply great storytelling. The modern stuff was less awesome, but still worked.

Grimm is all about the werewolf and his fox girlfriend.
Trying to figure out which is better is like trying to guess which Doctor is better. Why would I ever do that?

For anyone like me that hasn't seen OUAT and wanted to check it out after the positive comments, it looks like all of season 1 is on Netflix Streaming.
