I'm currently taking a Young Adult Resources class for my Master's degree in Library & Information Sciences and I've started a YA Lit blog for this class. To help me focus, I need to know, from as many people as possible...

1. What genre do you most enjoy reading....

2. And Why.

(Hopefully this is alright... I've tried to reread the rules, but I keep getting a page not found error.)

I'd be happy to contribute. I'm a fantasy fan above all else, myself. Reason: I want to escape reality and let my imagination go wild. I always feel like once you allow the confines of realism to flex there is a lot more fun to be had.

My favorite is paranormal romance. I love paranormal because anything goes. I find a lot of realistic fiction to be very unrealistic. I end up focusing too much on what is fake. With paranormal nothing really has to be explained perfectly. You can just go with the flow of anything crazy and it opens up the book world to something very interesting and different from what I experience everyday. And I just love a good romance. I prefer any book I read to have a good underlying romance plot along with the main plot.
