Marrie I have a few of these, although not a ton. I usually try to finish what I read but sometimes a book is so horrible, I have to stop. I didn't finish The Garden, Breaking Dawn(although I only read the first chapter of that one so idk if it even counts),Nightfall(i love all of the originals but read half of this one and HATED it!) and Halo

What didn't you finish?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

First Light by Rebecca Stead. >.< Worst book EVER.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Lord of the Rings (Fellowship of the Ring) was a hard one for me, and I quit after getting about a hundred pages in, but I just restarted it. I think it's going better this time.
Also, Mockingjay (by Suzanne Collins) took me a few tries.

Alyssa | 127 comments The immortal series (the 1st book is great but the others made me want to kill myself), Shiver, pretties, and i'm currently struggling to finish beautiful creatures. the history of the family is just not interesting to me but only got 70 pages in. tell me if i should continue any of these.

Yeah lord of the rings! I read the hobbit first, in like 6th grade, and thought it was fine. I started Fellowship over the summer and gave up after about 100 pages in, still haven't gone back to it, idk if I will.

I read Matched and didn't like it; abandoned the series, and now it's popular. I don't see what's so likable about it. I also couldn't finish twilight I only read the first 2 books of the series

♪♫Gloria♫♪ Halo. I just hate books like that. So creepy and dumb. Another is Ink death. i could barely finish Ink Spell. They were SO boring. _yawn_ '0'

message 9: by Erika (new)

Erika (livingforthebooks) | 318 comments I couldn't finish The Water Wars and that's basically it because most of the time I force myself to finish books and series even if I hate the book but I couldn't ever get 50 pgs into the Water Wars.

Matched is so not worth it. I finished the series for some reason and I couldn't stand Cassia or Ky by the last book and Crossed was just plain boring!

It's just so... boring. (My opinion, please don't take it personally.) And the characters are quiet dull.

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick and Kiss by Ted Dekker

message 27: by Arielle (new)

Arielle | 11 comments I hate having to not finish a book, but I didn't finish Wicked Lovely! I tried to finish but I neared the end, and just gave up. I kept hoping it would get better, but it didn't :(

message 28: by Claire (new)

Claire | 49 comments I have a bajillion of these. I have a bad habit of starting several books at once, and I usually only get through the best two. I usually don't get bothered by not finishing them, but there are a few I really wish I had finished though, such as City of Fallen Angels, Insurgent, and Shatter Me.

message 29: by Athena Ivashkova ~♥~ (last edited Dec 23, 2012 11:51AM) (new)

Athena Ivashkova ~♥~ | 383 comments I wanted to finish Les Miserables sooo bad, the movie is coming out on Christmas! I started it last year, it was my LA teacher's favorite book (inspired her to become a lang.arts teacher.) Maximum Ride series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians (loved the movie better than the book, tbh.)

message 30: by Marrie (new)

Marrie Oh yeah! Maximum Ride I tried to read but couldn't get into despite the hype. I only read the first book and half of the second one. I like PJO though. It gets a LOT better after the first book. You should give it another chance.

message 31: by Erin (new)

Erin M. (siriusyareader) | 157 comments Same here! I was such a big fan when I was younger but the last three books my library didn't have and I couldn't bring myself to buy them :P

message 32: by Marrie (new)

Marrie You should read them. The third one is my favorite. Plus theres a sub series that is really good, like even better than the Percy Jackson series. You have to read all the PJO books before it though or else it won't make any sense.

I agree. I feel like Suzzane just wrote it to make fans happy. It was just so boring and there was no real climax in the story. Plus I hated the ending. I did finish it though.

♪♫Gloria♫♪ This was so boring i was gonna die Sapphique (Incarceron, #2) by Catherine Fisher Sapphique

message 36: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa I could not finish Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi . Omg I tried but after metaphors like "he smiled a small smile the size of Jupiter" I just couldn't finish it.

Lol! xD And the worst part is that people praise the book for it's wonderful use of metaphors and think it's great writing...the story is so unrealistic too.

LOL I was not a fan of Shatter Me at all.

I couldn't finish Beautiful Creatures, it was just so long and it started off really good but about halfway through the book just kind of fell apart. Ugh.

message 44: by Gwen (new)

Gwen (unseelie_baroness) Radiant shadows by Melissa Mar, fourth in the series. The main character is a colossal Mary sue , not to mention the Gary sue love interest. It didn't help that the two antagonists are my favourite characters Sorcha and Bananach(stupid name, great character). Few months later I dipped in to the ending, which made me want to bang my head against the wall.

✽Laurenj426✽ (purplepandy) A Beautiful Dark (A Beautiful Dark, #1) by Jocelyn Davies (I basically finished it but it got on my nerves so I skimmed through the rest of it)

Ethereal (Celestra, #1) by Addison Moore because it was so bad and it was offensive.
I also didn't finish Going Bovine by Libba Bray City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë but not because I didn't like them. I hardly started them but I didn't start them at the right time and they didn't catch my interest. I am definitely going to read them in the future when I have time.

I also didn't finish Carrier of the Mark (Carrier Trilogy, #1) by Leigh Fallon and Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows because they were boring and I had to return them to the library.

Jess (jessicashayal) Wuthering Heights, Paper Towns and Jane Eyre.

I'm willing to give those books another chance though...
