Trevor wrote: "Question! For the travel category does that include places like work/school, or just vacations?"
I was thinking of places beyond where you live initially, but we could either allow for places or we could make another category that would better encompass that.
I'd like to include as many places as possible for everyone, so we'll work it in.

In other news: I will be MIA from this group for the next week or so. I'll be getting married and have limited Internet access until then. But I'll try to chime in every chance I get.

okie dokie! Thanks. :)

This is about where you read the book. On the bus, or in your home, or even at work. This challenge is all about you!

The great thing about this challenge is that you could tailor it to how you want. So you could choose not to do the outside category at all, and focus on where you read in your home. Like do you read in your bedroom every evening? How about in the kitchen or laundry room while you're doing household chores? You could also change the outside category to be inside buildings, like school or the post office or grocery store.
You also don't have to finish a book in a specific place. If you only get 5 pages into a book on the bus I would count it, especially if you're branching out and reading in new places!
But really, this challenge is all about where you want to read, so if any of the categories don't work for you, or you think that there is one that should be included then let us know!

You can do whatever you want! Welcome to the challenge and good luck!

You can post whenever you want. You don't actually have to finish the book in the location, just where you're reading. Good luck!

10-4!

To answer some unasked questions that may help you with this challenge.
1. You don't have to use a location once. For example, I don't drive and solely commute by bus, so all of my vehicle ones will be Capital Metro Bus.
2. You can make your own categories. Don't travel much? Add 5 more to the home category. It's kinda like an all-you-can-eat-buffet, you just pick and choose what you want.
3. Don't forget to update your challenge here!

1. Couch
2. Bed
3. Dining table
Vehicle
1. Airplane
2. Car
Travel

2. Foster City, CA

6. Phoenix, AZ
Completed: 11/15
It's possible that I travel too much. Upcoming: San Francisco and Chicago.
I'm going to end up a tad short, I think. I may need to find more places in my house to curl up and read. :)

You can use the same place multiple times too!
I don't drive, or enjoy being in cars in general, so all of my vehicles are Capital Metro Bus.

Hi Kara. Can I change my goal to 5 please instead of 12. The reason for this is that many of the books I read I read in the same places. For example all the ones mentioned above I have predominately read in the ensuite but have read in the other places mentioned.

We can change the goal no problem, but it is okay if you read in the same place. This challenge is to expand and recognize the places we read, so if you tend to be limited in your reading places (which I am), then that is okay!

The focus in on where you read, not what you read. This challenge could help you find new reading places, expand your reading habits, or help you overcome motion sickness. Under each category, you would keep track of where you read, not what you read.
Example: For the Home category, you could read in the laundry room, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc. For the Outside section, track the places outdoors you read. In Vehicles, you could put down bus, car, boat, airplane, etc. The Travel category is for anywhere you go away from where you currently reside.
Choose how many places you're going to shoot for in each category (you do not have to do five in each).
