Crazy for Young Adult Books discussion

It may sound a bit weird to some of you (or maybe most of you), but I always start new year only with the book I really, really want to read. Maybe based on the covers or the authors.

This year, 2012, I started with because I loved Elizabeth Reyes.

Now I am not 100% sure what to read first in 2013. I think I may read either or

What is your plan?

I just finished Ashfall and I loved every bit of it!

I think I may read for my first book of 2013! I am not positive yet but I really want to read it and based on reviews I've heard I think it would be a great way to start off the new year!

I have that buddy read january 3rd :)

Ahhh! From what I've heard you are going to have a great start! I am currently reading BC and Matched and am enjoying them both. I've heard tons and tons of great things about The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and I read TFIOS during the summer and it's one of my favorites. :D Hope you like them as much as I did! I really want to read Mara Dyer so I'll probably buy it after Christmas and read it late January/ Beginning of February! *excited*

Omg I know right!! I've heard so much hype about books like these, I'm just like, "I MUST READ!!" O_O
Plus the new BC movie is out next year. Have to read that before it comes out!!

I don't really have a set book I want to read for 2013. I do, however, have a medium-sized list of books that I want to read on my Christmas break that could carry into 2013. :D

I have a long list of books to read and a script from a filmmaker and friend...I'll update when I know how much I've managed to read before. 'Road to Charlie' or 'the Undeparted' are likely candidates...

But I also have a few others...Oh, we'll see. So much to read, so little time!

what a great idea! I've never actually tried to make sure I start my new year with a good book, but that sounds like a great idea.

Well, I'm on my school holiday summer break which is 7 weeks (I live in NZ so we have our summer break round Xmas) so I guess I have the books I got out from the school library. If I don't finish them before the new year - although I probably will :) then it would be but if I do finish then I think I would quite like to start off 2013 with followed by the Lord of the Rings Trilogy as I haven't read them yet. I also have and to read so I guess it will depend on what I feel like. What do you guys recommend I read to start 2013 on a positive note??? :)

Looking good Jess. I think I am going to read The Hobbit soon as well. Maybe in the middle of January :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that checks on my library books EVERY DAY (although I'm still checking in on my status on the First of that series ;D)

I might read Opal on the 2nd or 3 rd week. I want to read more contemporary in my first week of 2013 :)

Before I fall will be one of the first few on my read shelf for 2013. I know I'll finish more books though between the first and the time when our buddy read starts! I'm excited to start off fresh with a new year! Hopefully a new year means another year filled with good books and maybe even the year that many good books are published:D

I had no idea it was the #1 added book in 2012. fingers crossed it's good. I've read one of the author's other books and it was VERY good.

It sounds like a good book, Trisha, but the cover is not very interesting. Let me know how it is, so I can decide whether to read it or not.

I read as my first book in 2013, and I am so glad I did because this book was amazing!!

I read . It reminded me of several stories I had read when I was younger. Really brought me back to my childhood! Good way to start the year. Read it if you haven't already!!

I am reading Fifty Shades Darker. I just had to know how it all ends ;)

My first book of 2013 was The Neverending Story! I finished it today! Let me just say it was the perfect book to start the new year off with.

yesterday finished the book in a day.. immortal city by Scott peers I really loved the book but I am utterly fascinated with angels the whole process of wings.. uh... :) haha love love LOVE
