Yes.
Prepare yourself for many rereads, as well as absolutely inane and outlandish theorizing.
Most life sucking novels I've yet to encounter. Of course I mean that in the best way possible though.

welcome aboard!

@ Hazel -
I KNOW!! I'm seething for the third book. LOL.
Still no clear release date sadly. Crossing my fingers for this year though.
I plan to take a few days off after it comes out just so I can read undisturbed. :)

I listened to mine the first time through at work too!! LOL.
Ahhh Accounting. Boring as hell, but wonderful if you like books and have the cash for audioversion. :)

I agree the audio version free's you up to do other things. This narrator is really great doing this book I am totally enjoying it.
Yes, I was really impressed with him as well. Hope he does the third one too. Otherwise I'll be sad.
Pat pretty much insisted Podehl do WMF, too, despite a scheduling conflict. I imagine he'll do the final book as well.

I'm glad he insists. I'm sure Pat understands how weird it feels (and almost wrong) when you are listening to a series on Audiodisc and half way through they change readers.
Nick is basically the voice of Kote/Kvothe. When I read the books I even hear it that way in my head LOL

The accents are according to Pat's instruction as well, so what you're hearing when you read is as close to his intention as possible. He's talked about spending hours getting Nick to pronounce the names right as well.
Amazon just added a kindle feature that links the audio with the text if you own both. For a certain species of nerd, that's pretty cool. And also useful for commuting.

Oh man, that is pretty cool. How do you like your kindle? I've been considering getting one for a while now, but haven't seen the sense since I can use my laptop for a portable ereader, know what I mean? My friends daughter got a nook for christmas though and it was pretty cool. Haven't actually seen a kindle, but the more I hear about them the more interesting they seem.

Just interjecting into the conversation....Kindle HANDS DOWN...Nook SHmook....it may be a nice reader but you do not have the power of Amazon behind you...I have my 2nd generation Kindle that cost 200 plus (still works like a charm) but that is not the real beauty of kindle you have the daily free books from Amazon...literally hundreds plus, and I not talking about the classics everyone has to share...great books that will introduce you to new or less known authors who write wonderful books. Not to mention ALL your books are stored in the cloud..so no matter if you dont have your kindle handy you can always still acess your books via Amazon on your phone, pc, tablet etc.

I think once I'm done with my current pratchett audiobook, I'll start Kingkiller again.

I personally hope that it will ve more then a trilogy though. I really do feel there is still so much left unsaid.
What i especially find refreshing about this series personally is that i find the "mundane" goings on at the University almost as pleasing to read as the epic adventures K has. I know it might sound a little strange but it kind of brought back Harry potteresque feelings with me.
Ps i have a kindle as well. First gen though so i need to get a new one Asap ( love the digital paper though). Heard something about free books, love sone more info on that. Anybody care to enlighten me?

Unfortunately, Kvothe's story is going to end in this third and final book. However, Pat has said he will write other peoples stories in the 4C :)

He already wrote one actually, should be seeing it in a couple months.
It's in an anthology called Unfettered. I heard it was actually regular book length, but that might just be rumor. (Or my pure insanity)
But yes, he's been pretty adamant that it will be strictly a trilogy in regards to Kote/Kvothe.

Hi
Just an answer to your question regarding free books, kindle/amazon has thousands of free great books. Just go into your amazon account and do a search for free kindle books. I also subscribe to kindle nation daily (just do a goole search) and you will get an email with the free books, I forget if its daily or weekly. Hope that helps:)
I just started this book as it was a goodreads recommendation. I am totally digging it so far, even though I am only on chapter 5. I already have book 2 ready after I finish this one. I have both the Ebook version and audio so I can listen at work when I can't read. I am thinking this may be one of my new favorite authors!
