Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments I'm the happiest camper when I'm showered and in bed by 9pm - if it's before then, even better. It only ever seems to happen when I'm sick, though. Usually my bedtime is closer to 11:30.

I just love sleep. A lot.

message 2: by Susan (last edited Jan 18, 2013 11:25AM) (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I love sleep, too. Sometimes it is just impossible for me to fall asleep, though. I end up staying up way too late reading, listening to music and checking out things on GR.

If little goes to bed at 8pm and I fall asleep by 11 or 11:30 then I feel I have accomplished a great thing.

janine | 7709 comments Some time when I'm not too tired to read in bed and not too late so I can both read in bed and still have enough hours left to enjoy sleeping without worrying I have to wake up in four hours.

Félix (habitseven) What?

message 5: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I retrack my statement. Actually, I don't care if I stay up late. It is the only time that is truly mine.

What? That's my bedtime too!

Did it get derailed?

Between midnight and 1:00 a.m., on the couch with the TV on.

evie (ecie) | 4439 comments That moment, when I've showered and cleaned my teeth and I'm in bed with the intention of watching a bit of a movie and then I decide to just listen to it while resting my eyes.

CD | 1577 comments SLEEP? SLEEP! WHO NEEDS SLEEP?!

I better cut back on the coffee . . .

message 15: by Susan (new)

Susan | 6406 comments I was thinking that at 4:30p.m. today while pouring myself a full cup. I know better. I really do.

I had coffee at 2 p.m. today, which means I'm going to be up all night.

evie (ecie) | 4439 comments Goodnight, Bun . Sleep tight.

message 18: by Arminius (last edited Feb 07, 2013 05:24AM) (new)

Arminius 8 hours is the goal. (Just like Bunny) I count back 8 hours from the time I need to get up. Then I go to bed at that time.

I can fall asleep immediately after drinking a couple cups of coffee. I do it almost every night.

Caffeine has no effect on some people.

Heidi (heidihooo) | 10825 comments Lobstergirl wrote: "Caffeine has no effect on some people."

It totally does on me - I can't drink it after 10am or else I'm bouncing off the walls until 1 in the morning. Not literally, thank goodness.

Me too. Horrible, horrible headache that will last hours and hours. Basically, forever.

message 24: by Arminius (new)

Arminius How much water do you gals drink?

message 25: by Lobstergirl, el principe (last edited Feb 07, 2013 04:23PM) (new)

Lobstergirl | 24781 comments Mod
My fluid intake:

Water: probably 36 oz/day. More in summer or if I'm exercising.
Coffee: 18 oz/day.

Sometimes small amounts of fruit juice. If I'm cold, hot tea at night. Mug-sized hot tea.

message 26: by Arminius (last edited Feb 07, 2013 04:27PM) (new)

Arminius You must be fairly healthy because water is essential and coffee and tea are good for you.

Just based on my fluid intake?

I also occasionally drink the beers.

I drink 1-2 litres ever day.

Your mention of exercise clued me in.

Moderation is the key.

evie (ecie) | 4439 comments Monday to Friday

Daily, I drink three or four mugs of coffee with skim milk, no sugar or sweetener.

I have two cups of tea with honey.

On the weekend probably some alcoholic beverage, the water, and three coffees plus one mug of tea.

message 35: by Spellbound (new)

Spellbound (spellboundreads) | 117 comments My ideal bedtime is 1.00 a.m., I've always been a night person, too bad I have a day job. I love the quiet time, nobody hassling me, no distractions, I can truly do what I like. On the other hand, I hate mornings.

I drink the beers but I don't get crazy. What I really need to do is drink more water. I am better about this when I jog and walk but I have been on a hiatus.

My bedtime is ideally 8:30 but 9:30 at the latest. I like ten hours of sleep and I get up between 5:45 and 6 AM.
I should get up earlier on snowy drive days, but I'm pretty lazy, truth be told.

That sounds good particularly if you exercise.

Drink more water and definitely jog and walk. And do it consistently.

message 40: by Aliyah (new)

Aliyah | 369 comments good time for me to sleep is 10:00 PM. Anytime later than that and I'll get sleep-deprived.

It really depends on how draining my activities were that day. On days when I had a 3-hour total commute, I would be dead tired and hit the pillow by 10:30, 11 at the latest. On days with no commute and little activity, I might not be tired until 1 a.m. I rarely ever nap, but I might take an afternoon catnap if I've only gotten 5-6 hrs of sleep the night before, and if I have a catnap, I won't be in bed before midnight or 1 a.m.
