Hey all!

I know it may seem a little soon to start getting suggestions for March when we are not even in February, but I would like to leave people the last couple of weeks to get a copy of the book. So, once again, feel free to throw out your picks for March's read and please be willing to moderate those selections. If you have suggested a book before that did not quite make in the polls, post it again. "Third time pays for all," as Bilbo's dad said.

I'd like to start reading Tana French's series but I need some incentive so I'll recommend In the Woods which is the first in that series.

I'm also still trying to read books from the Booker Prize shortlists and one of the books on my to-read list has been The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood but I keep starting it and putting it down. I might get it read if it were a group read so I'll nominate that book too.

I'd be glad to moderate either book.

Sandra Heinzman (vasandra) | 138 comments I want to read The Blind Assassin too!

Hey Miriam, would you be willing to moderate the Famished Road if it wins in the polls? I apologize that I couldn't send you a private message.

It looks like a good start for the March poll and I will get it posted as soon as I hear back from the potential mods.

If it wins, I'd love to.

Also, is it okay to nominate more than one book? If so, I'd like to add Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion (the movie is out this month, so it'd be great to read the book first) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

Great pick James! I saw it the other day at a bookshop. I don't really like the governor but I wouldn't mind reading anything that has to do with The Walking Dead.

Sure, multiple noms are fine! I guess I should add that to the future month threads.

Clint Murphy (clint_robert_murphy) | 10 comments I would be up for reading:

The Drowning City,
The Broken Empire Triology, or
The King's Bastard

They were all on my recommended list and have great covers.

Yes, For 20+ years I have judged books by their covers, and it, I believe, has worked out well to date!

Okay folks, the results are in from the polls and the winners for the March read are The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Warm Bodies! Since both books were suggested by the same member, Mariam will lead the "Warm Bodies" discussion and I will take up the "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" for her.

We are still taking suggestions for the April read so get those in by the end of February.

Alison G. (agriff22) | 543 comments The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is awesome!!! I read the series very fast! Im gonna bow out of this months reads since Ive read one and dont have access to the other one. Have fun! I will stalk the discussion off and on.

Tiffani- You will get addicted to the Millennium series once you start it. The first couple chapters of "Dragon Tattoo" are hard to get into, but everything comes together eventually. That series was one of the best series of books that I have read!

As soon as I make a plan to read something and cement it, I always end up reading 5 other things that are completely unrelated DX

I had tried to read it before a few years ago and couldn't get passed the first few chapters, so that's good to know. Maybe once I break through the first part, I'll get sucked in!

Thats my vote!
I'd also back The Time Travellers Wife because its one of my all time favourites!

Hi Mackenzie,

If you still need a moderator for The Time Traveler's Wife, I could do it. I'll be done teaching the book at the end of this week and so I have lots of potential discussion questions that I could ask here.

Lisa

Hey Mackenzie,

I trust you'll do the "thing" so that the Group Read thread for The Time Traveler's Wife can appear at the top? I don't know how to make the special asterisk.

Thanks!
