Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Is this profile an exception to prefix/title rule in the librarian manual? Or does staff need to edit out he "Miss"?

Dale Husband (seeker_alpha) | 5 comments "Miss Kitty Roads" seems to be the name she uses everywhere. Omitting the word Miss would not be appropriate if she uses it as part of her official name.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments If that is a justification, needs to be clear in the manual. Lots of authors use "Dr." And other titles, don't use periods in their initials and other things against manual that we change to be standard on their author profiles. Even "Sir Walter Scott" profile is "Walter Scott" so the Miss is confusing to me.

Just curious, why is "Miss" or "Mrs." more acceptable than "Dr." or "Sir"?

And if author uses everywhere, why are her regular goodreads posts omitting the Miss?

Either way, I'll leave for staff to handle.

If there are rules about prefixes/titles on author names not in the manual, should be added. I do realize there are some oddball pen names like "Miss S." that are obviously not going to be edited for titles anymore than pen name "Dr. K"

It's possible that "Miss Kitty Roads" is also a pen name like your examples.

If it's a pen-name we'd probably leave it, but I can't find any indication that it is.

There is this from her blog, tagged "pen name". She is talking about how to sign a letter (with pen name or real name).
But I need to ask how do I sign it? I am using a pen name, and I have already stated that in my letter along with my real name. So the question stands How do I sign the letter?

Sounds like she considers "Miss Kitty Roads" to be a pen name. Do we know that Kitty Roads is her name?

Thanks for finding that.

Judging from the way she's written things like "Real Name aka Miss Kitty Roads" in the blog post you linked, I would definitely conclude that Kitty Roads is NOT her real name.

ETA: Yay cross posting!

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Her posts on goodreads say they come from "Kitty Roads" without the Miss; I'll just leave alone unless Rivka decides is a title like Dr., Mrs., etc. versus a pen name.

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) | 6325 comments Oops, accidentally clicked her thumbnail changing pages and now looks like her goodreads posts are saying "Miss Roads" instead
