Helina (helinakalbe) | 4 comments Hey guys :)

So I need help finding some books.
I'd really like to read books where a non-human girl is in a regular school or something like that. And of course there should be romance... ;)

Thanks in advance,
Helina :

Stephanie | 92 comments You can try Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles, #1) by Gena Showalter . I don't know if you could call her non human but she can see zombies and it's not something everyone can do

Debbie's Spurts (D.A.) Once Dead, Twice Shy (Madison Avery, #1) by Kim Harrison Once Dead, Twice Shy by Kim Harrison. Still attends High school with the humans throughout the series.

Waffle Monarch | 59 comments You're going to have a difficult time finding something like this because the generic YA PNR formula dictates that the protagonist needs to be plain Jane vanilla human or you run the risk of the reader being unable to identify with her.

Even when you do find a protagonist that is a genuine non-human, youll find that the non-human aspects of her character are muted and she often ends up acting like a vanilla human.

i.e.: i'm a vampire and i'm being threatened with violence. But instead of using my awesome vampire powers to defend myself I'm going to back away slowly and panic, hoping the male love interest comes to my rescue.

Sorry if i sound unhappy about it. I guess its become a bit tiresome.

Genea It is true that that particular criteria is difficult to find because things can change very quickly. Like been shipped off to a boarding school with similar students for instance.

I did find a few that might fit your criteria. I hope these are good additions to your list:
Infinity (Chronicles of Nick, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1) by Rachel Vincent White Hot Kiss (The Dark Elements, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout The Rush (The Siren, #1) by Rachel Higginson Reckless Magic (Star-Crossed, #1) by Rachel Higginson Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy, #1) by Jennifer Estep

Megan (megandurrence) | 78 comments I agree with anything JLA! Can't go wrong there.

I listed all that came to mind first, I also have a few where the girl doesn't know about her supernatural side until later in the book. You may like them.
My Wolf's Bane (Shapes of Autumn, #1) by Veronica Blade City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments Graphic Novel, Part 1) by Cassandra Clare Angelfire (Angelfire, #1) by Courtney Allison Moulton Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy, #1) by Kiersten White Wicked (A Wicked Saga, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout Elemental (Elemental, #0.5) by Brigid Kemmerer Sweet Evil (The Sweet Trilogy, #1) by Wendy Higgins
Hope you find what you're looking for!
