Moris | 24 comments I stumble upon this occasionally.

Let's say we have a book written by two collaborating authors - "John Doe" and "Jenny Doe".

But the name is incorrect as the authors name entry reads "John Doe, Jenny Doe". Of course, this needs to be corrected, and another author entry created in a separate block.

Here's what I do: I change the name into "John Doe" and then, in a book info, add additional author, "Jenny Doe."

My concern is: if someone simply adds two new names to the book data and deletes the first, incorrectly written author field, would the "John Doe, Jenny Doe" still exist somewhere in Goodreads' virtual space with 0 books?

Perhaps not much of a concern, but I'm curious.

Sandra | 31414 comments Moris, I always check first that it is the only book with the joined author names. Otherwise you're only taking care of half the problem.

Once there are no more stray books, the author profile, bereft of books gets taken care of by a script that is run periodically.
