Regina Morris (reginamorris) | 3 comments I thought this might help us as indie authors. I've done networking ladders in other industries and I thought I'd offer it here to help all of us find more fans for FB and to network more with authors within our own genre. This will help us build our platforms.

I created a Writing Ladder. This does not benefit me in any additional way other than how it helps all participants on the ladder (so I'm not trying to self-promote or recruit anyone).

This is free and it's been well received with my LinkedIn writing groups.

A Facebook ladder is simple. You like the facebook page and you will be notified in your personal Facebook account whenever a ladder is open. The Writing Ladder I created has authors, of any genre, put 1) the genre they write in 2) a three word description (category) of what they write and 3) a link to their Facebook fan page on a rung of the ladder. Before the ladder closes everyone who has a rung in the ladder needs to 'like' all other pages in that ladder that have the same genre as theirs. This way everyone get's their fan page number of likes increasing with people who write (and most likely) read that genre. So you're getting likes from potential real fans. You also get to connect with more authors in your genre.

So for me I would put the following information on the ladder:
Romance - paranormal, vampires, adult
And before the ladder closes I would like all the fan pages for the genre of romance. Everyone reciprocates the likes, so if I like 5 pages I will get 5 likes back.

The greater the number of participants in the ladder the more connections you can make.

Here is the ladder for you to check out. I've only done one ladder so far since I just created it over the weekend.

It works in other industries and it's free. Please let me know what you think.

I'll probably do the next ladder on Monday March 4th. It's better the more authors we have participating, so if you like the idea please share it with your writing buddies.

Again, I don't personally benefit if you like the Writing Ladder page. It's just a tool for me to open ladders up to everyone.

This is not a bad idea, but I missed the Ladder... When will you do another?

Regina Morris (reginamorris) | 3 comments I'll do one on Monday. Spread the word if you can. If you "like" the facebook fan page WritingLadder you'll be notified in your FB account when the ladder is opened. I'll run it for at least a day.
