Devin Lind (cdlind) | 6 comments I read this book translated into Swedish in the 1980s.

The cover of the paperback (at least the Swedish one) was red with a b/w photograph of a mother (the one who wrote the book) and her son. The son had a rare condition and several disabilities.

I don't remember much details, but I believe the son's name was Jonathan or Jonathon (possibly Anthony) and that his name was in the (at least the Swedish) title, and the mother's/author's first name was Shirley.

I know this isn't much to go on, but thought that if someone knew what I was talking about, that person could be here.

I think it might be A Kiss Through Glass. It was published in Sweden in 1982 as Kampen för mitt barn : [en mors gripande berättelse om sin dödsdömde son]

The mother is Shirley, the son is Anthony and he had Wiskott Aldrich Syndrome.

There's an interesting site here, with a TV interview the author did in 1977: http://savingshirleynolan.blogspot.co...

edit: Sadly, the author committed suicide in 2002. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/0...

You're welcome! Yes, a sad story all around. :(

I'll move this to solved for you and shelve the title.

Devin Lind (cdlind) | 6 comments Thank you again! I'm currently accessing GR through the app and couldn't do it myself.
