Ai Ore is a bit confusing since there are only 5 volumes in Japan but 8 in the US. I was trying to figure out how to go about combining editions, but with the volume difference, I wasn't sure what to do, or if the Japanese volumes can even be combined with the US volumes.

Here's the GR page to the whole series and what GR has: http://www.goodreads.com/search?utf8=...

Viz page: http://www.viz.com/search?search=ai+ore

Kadokawa (JP publisher) page: http://www.kadokawa.co.jp/search_plus...

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments It looks like there are 2 Ai Ore series (originally 3 5 and 5 volumes, with the first 5 published by Shogakukan and possibly republished in 3 volumes by Kadokawa...?) which Viz published together as 8 volumes. Let me see if I can sort this out....

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments Okay, wow, that's a bit of a mess to sort out. Can someone take a look at this and let me know if the series descriptions are clear?

Series 1, original 5-volume publication:

Series 1, new 3-volume publication:

Series 2:

Both series combined:

That's because the series will have the most shelved version of each book, regardless of title/source.

Cait (tigercait) | 4988 comments ...Ah, okay. You threw me for a minute thinking that this was more information about the Ai Ore series. Next time, could you start a new thread for an issue with a new series? Thanks!

Series collect whole books, not editions of books. It doesn't matter which edition is showing on the series page; every edition of that book is part of the series. (The edition which shows in the list is the default edition for each book, which is usually the most popular edition. Apparently for this series sometimes the US editions are more popular and sometimes the UK editions are more popular.)

"Also, there are three supporting books to the series but are not part of the series. I wasn't sure what the policy was if they should be linked with the series."

Yes, they should be non-primary books in this series. They were already listed with the series, but I've corrected them to be non-primary now.

"Also I believe these two should be combined."

No, the short story has been published separately.
