Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 37 comments Are there any tricks for finding a book (for the "topic" field, or when one wants to add a link or a cover to one's post) when the title is a common one? Does one have to slog through multiple-page search results?

If you type the book title followed by the author name in the search field, it should bring up the book you want. For example, I have a book named "Tanner" which brings up a million results. So I type "Tanner Mona Hanna" and it comes up straight away.

Karen A. Wyle (kawyle) | 37 comments Thanks! I didn't know one could do that!

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) Yeah, works for me, too - my first novel was called "Stolen" and if I'd checked before, I would have found out that there are tons of books with that title (and I might have called it something else). Adding my name works.

Stanley Thornton (standman) | 65 comments I don't know if it works here in Goodreads, but in a normal search engine, I find if you put the title in parethesis followed by a comma, then the author name in parenthesis, it'll pretty much eliminate everything else...because you're now look for not one, but two EXACT terms

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) By the way, you can do the book & author in the main search bar, but you have to do one or the other in the add book/author link (it appears to me).

No, in the add book/author link you can put your book name followed by your name. I've done it and it works. I only do it under the book tab, of course, because you're looking for your book. And you can put your name first, then your book name, and it still works :)

K.A. Krisko (kakrisko) Oh, yeah, I just tried it and it worked. Funny, because it has sometimes not seemed to work for me. Works now, though!
