Bri (ezbrizy) | 185 comments Hi!...Welcome to the corner community. I think you'll come to like this group and I must say that your corner is already AMAZEBALLS dipped in awesomesauce! Speaking of sauce....*brings nacho's to go with those brews*

message 4: by Cherrelle (new)

Cherrelle Smith (spoonary) Nachos with a brew!? Blasphemy! It's got to be some chocolate digestives with a warm cup o' tea!

Hello and welcome, Ali. I look forward to seeing what you do with this place.

message 5: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments Thank you so much... This place seems perfect for what I've been looking for!!!

A comfortable, lively and active community!!!

Free Hugs for all with sprinkles on top!!!

We are in the middle of moving home. 300 miles away from everything I've ever known to be closer to his eldest daughter from previous relationship.
Lots of decorating to do, and plenty of reading and reviewing in between coats of paint!!! :)

BattyKat (prosserkat) Have to say, I've always loved the term Amazeballs. Heard it a lot when I skated.

Little early for beer for me, but a big steaming mug of coffee where there's more extras than coffee? Sho thang!

Ok are we talkin' tea or beer...cause I assumed *passes a cold one* meant beer. However, I did have a nice chocolate biscuit with my strawberry pu-erh this morning.

message 8: by Cherrelle (new)

Cherrelle Smith (spoonary) Well Bri, the original question was if anyone wanted a brew, which to me means a cup of tea (or coffee). A cold one would be beer here too, yeah.

message 9: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments A brew was indeed hot drinks of choice for all, I just happened to have some beer on ice for Kyle :P

Ali | 163 comments Ermahgerd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just finished reading Hunger (Gone, #2) by Michael Grant and I have to say I've loved it!
It's fast paced and full of heart wrenching decisions for our main character Sam. For a 15 year old anyway. I'm sure glad this never happened to me!

I absolutely have to read the next in the series... It finishes the book up nicely but leaves a lot of questions still about the FAYZ, I'll be disappointed if the series doesn't end well.
It deserves a finish... maybe not the cliche happy ending but it deserves to be explained.

The characters are really quite fabulously flawed. In the sense that although they are kids, he hasn't given them everything they need in order to survive. They've got to work at it... good to see in the development.

Anyway... enough rambling! Book 3! WOOOOOO!

Jon (jon17) | 372 comments Hi, Ali.
Just dropped by to say hi in your brand new corner.
I was not planning to say it twice, but life is full of surprises.

I see you love cheese. Well, we have a lot in common because I love cheese a lot.

P.S. I share the aforementioned perplexity; brew means beer!

message 15: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments Thanks for the welcome Jon!

Cheese is pure divinity ... nothing beats cheese! NOM!

Brew could be either tea/coffee or beer. Beer is brewed... But I also brew my tea... I shall have to be more concise in my offerings in future :P xx

message 16: by April (new)

April (ajoys) Hi Ali nice corner. I was reading the brew, cold one discussion. I live in the South, we drink a lot iced tea. That would quailfy for a brew(tea) and a cold one!

Well, as much as I have a dirty relationship with cheese, chocolate and I have a thing that borders on the not-safe-for-childrens-eyes.

message 21: by Cherrelle (new)

Cherrelle Smith (spoonary) I must say I also love cheese! I think I spy a fan club in the pipeline! ¬_¬

message 22: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments It has been a looonnnggg day off today.

We took the day of from decorating our currently uninhabitable home... we are living with the in-laws (although we aren't married yet).
Tomorrow I'm back to it... leaving my Chloe Bear with her Daddy, and I'm painting! Finally we have the bedroom walls to a state where we can get a lick of paint on there, Morello and Lavender Grey are our chosen colours for our bedroom. After 4 years of being together, 2 years living with my parents we finally get to choose colours for our first home together!
Very exciting!

I would like to share a silly photo in my corner of me and Bear but I have no idea how to do it... maybe later when I've figured it out!

Hope you have all had fabulous days!

message 28: by Jenny527 (new)

Jenny527 Yay for choosing new paint! I want to paint my bedroom, but it's such a pain in the butt.

message 29: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments We have it easier than if we were already living there. There's nothing in the house... totally unfurnished. And it's so grubby it's untrue. Few bits need work and it's easier to get it all done before we move in.

So YAY for paint! Hahaha

message 30: by April (new)

Welcome, Ali! Great corner; feels all warm and cozy. :)

I have heard tidbits here and there, about this gone series. I may have to add it to my TBR. Is this a sleeper that no one knows about? I don't want to miss out! :D

message 33: by Alondra (new)

Alondra Miller Added it!

message 34: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments Thank You Alondra! I do like the pot pourri on the table, smell of coffee from the machine and all the beautiful pages of my books.... Such an amazing aroma!

It truly is a fabulous series... It was recommended to me by GR and then I joined this group, and another one who are both reading the first one... And I've been unable to put them down!

Please let me know how you get on with them :D xxx

message 42: by Ali (new)

Ali | 163 comments Just finished reading Plague (Gone #4) by Michael Grant and ERMAHGERDDDDDDD!!!!!!! Totally gruesomely gripping!

Absolutely loving the series.

My current plan is to read the last two books... Then read The Moon Dwellers (The Dwellers, #1) by David Estes for my Read and Review and then start reading the books for my Favourite YA Dystopian Book Challenge

In between all that... still painting! And hopefully getting some wallpaper in the hall, landing and stairs this weekend.
Our boiler won't be replaced until August so it looks like we are moving in with the one that is currently there and decorating the kitchen after that sometime!

*passes out strawberry laces* Hope you all have a great day! xxx
