What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I am not posting here because I forgot the name of a book.NO!
I want to know the titles of all the books wherein teens get stranded on an island. Such books are fun to read. I have read Treasure Island, "Shipwrecked!" and "Stranded" by Enid Blyton long ago, so please don't include them! Thanks in advance! :D

One that I read years ago is To The Wild Sky by Ivan Southall. It's probably a little hard to find now, but it fits your request for teens stranded on an island. Sorry I can't hyperlink to it on my iPod.

I watched the movie recently-ish and despite being an adult had to pause every once in a while and blush. I mean I have seen worse (sex-wise)...only this was a bit awkward and embarrassing to watch.

And of course Lord of the Flies though those kids dont have much fun.

Which Shipwreck? There is the three book series by Gordon Korman and there are several others.

I saw the movie again not too long ago, and for me the most awkward thing was how YOUNG the actors seemed, when they had seemed sooooo grown-up to me the first time I saw it. eep.

Far North is a bit off of the deserted island theme, but they're stranded in the far north and I enjoyed it a fair bit.

Adrift in the Pacific: Two Years Holiday : A group of boys find themselves adrift at sea, and after a terrible storm they are cast upon a deserted island, where they must learn to get along together to survive.

I just happened to read Baby Island - a little silly, but ok.

I could come up with more (and better) if you don't mind adults having a little background influence.

Someone else has already mentioned it but I too recommend Island of the Blue Dolphins. It's a wonderful book.

Someone already mentioned The Black Stallion, that's a good one, about a shipwrecked boy and an arab horse; he survives by remembering things he's read about survival, and manages to tame the horse and keep it alive as well. But a really great recent one I haven't seen mentioned yet is Terry Pratchett's Nation. That's a must-read. A young man returns home from his boy-becoming-man vigil to find the entire population of his island wiped out by a tsumami, and a shipwrecked bunch of "trouser-men", including a teenage girl. It's set in an alternate history version of our world in a Victorian-type era, and is in part about how he and the girl manage to assemble some survivors and deal with a rather nasty bunch from her ship's crew - but it's a lot more complicated than that, a very philosophical book as well as a great adventure story.

I recommend The Cay by Theodore Taylor.

Bad Island

This is a YA mystery book, but it is really good, Ten. It's also a quick read, I recommend this to everyone (more commonly people wanting to get into reading).
