Grab a book, be it one of your favorites or just one that is on the desk or shelf near by, turn to page 112, 2nd paragraph, and post the third sentence. What did you get?

Mine:




No way she'd risk having her brain dissected for giving him less than what he really deserved.

I did the second full paragraph.



It's an ordinary scene - there are shoes on the floor, a dog.

MY second paragraph only has 2 sentences. I picked the second.

lying on my bed in easy reach...

"I'd love to offer you some of mine," -- she motions to the skin strapped to her waist -- "but that Keeper is watching us like a hungry hawk."

This is Day's POV:
"There used to be miles of tunnels like this in almost every warfront city," Kaede whispers into the silence.

Archangel Evolution

With another roar, Rocky began to twirl through the air, spinning Taylor in a circle again and again.

Didn't seem likely with all the monster hunting and family angst, but still.

"You keep your mouth shut!" I screamed.

LOL, that sounds like America!

Across the sluggishly moving river the sun was setting behind the skyscrapers of lower Manhattan, outlining them in gold.

Though I have to say I wasn't expecting you to show up here until they started fixing up the cell for you.

page 112 is a picture in this book, I am reading and it has some beautifull pictures during the story.

There is only two sentences in the second paragraph, so I'll post the second sentence

LOL Love that book!

Of course there are neighborhoods behind that, sprawling for miles before, if he remembers correctly, changing into farmland as they head east.

This book is on my bed, but I haven't had a lot of time to read it. (Too many other books to read first on my Nook!)



No 3rd sentence so here's the 2nd:

I still need to read the last 2 Sookie Stackhouse books, Karen! You know, I used to LOVE that series, but the last few books I read in the series I wasn't thrilled with. I just want her and Sam to finally get together and have a happy ending! I don't feel optimistic for that ending, though...

I'm going through the same thing. I haven't heard great things about this one. I'm only about 1/6th of the way through and just not compelled to pick it back up.

Piper couldn't hear them talking, but she didn't need to.

"And the interpretation can be very different at each reading."

(that's the only sentence in the second paragraph, since that page was a bunch of dialogue)

I just started the book, so I don't know what that line was about! I'm still on the first few chapters.

Then she orders the shutters bolted on the other windows too so that we can't hear the mob shouting support for York, demanding that Edward of Warwick, my little cousin Teddy, come out and wave to them.

She was not wary of or hostile to that fraction of humanity; she simply had little or no interest in them.

Crusade is the start of a trilogy. Its a very dark vampire story, in sort of a not too distant dystopian future. Around the world there are different schools that train vampire fighters. But the vampires are slowly taking over society, and they have most of the population fooled into thinking they are not evil (they are).

Most of the schools have shut down or been taken over, but the one in Spain is still going. There are 6 recent graduates, and they have formed a team trying to fight the world of vampires basically.

The story is very character driven with these 6 characters, and later another one joins them. LOVED this trilogy a LOT!!

Seriously! Wow!

I've done it myself more than once, stuck out on the border planets, pitched against the latest colonist rebellion.

It wasn't that the firewalls and shields protecting Devils of Destruction were impenetrable; they were just elusive.

Aw, screw you guys.
