Christy what is a good series or book to read?

I'm looking for some new books to read. Can you help me get some please. I like YA and adult..

Thanks. :)

SHINY You should read the Hush, Hush Saga , Divergent, Graceling, and Lorien Legacies (I am number four).

Christy I have read the Hush Hush. Well not the last one yet. Divergent is on my list. I will have to see about Graceling and Lorien Legacies. Thanks! :)

The Lorien Legacies and Graceling is amazing!!

Ayesha Saleem You should read The Fault in Our Stars by John Green . It's a great book. Hmm... The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is also pretty awesome.

What, exactly, are you looking for? Like, which genre?

Christy I like books like The Morganville Vampires. Just ya know Supernatural stuff with a lil Romance.. I also like The Hunger games.

Olivia Kissed by an angel by Elizabeth Chandler --- good only if you really love romance and slight mystery but mostly romanced
Infernal devices Cassandra Clare--- you can't live without reading this man and the after you will ask yourself how did you survive without
White cat by holly black--- the first book was pretty good I never finished the series :)d
Delirium by Lauren Oliver--- now this ones pretty hot ;) it's a cool concept

Christy I have read the Infernal Devices all but the Clockwork Princess. I haven't read that one YET..

The other's I will put them on my too read list.

Thanks. :)

Ayesha Saleem Okay, well, you should try reading The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner , if you liked Hunger Games. For other dystopia/utopia-gone-wrong, you could try out 1984 by George Orwell if you haven't read that already, and Maggot Moon by Sally Gardner (haven't read this one, but the premise sounds really awesome, and the goodreads rating's really good). Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare is apparently really good (on my to-read list!), and it's by the same author (EDIT: JUST SAW SOMEONE RECOMMENDED THIS. PLEASE IGNORE).

Gone (Gone, #1) by Michael Grant was really good, though there isn't much romance in it...

Hmm...that's all for now. Maybe I'll edit this later, or add a new post. x)

Olivia Oh oh oh oh !!! And I hear the raven boys by Maggie stiefvater is full of badassary... Or in normal human language.. Pretty good but haven't read it... You should tell me :)

Christy I have heard that The Maze Runner is a good book.

Infernal Devices is one of the BEST series but The Mortal Instruments is alot better to me.

Kellani The Tiger's Curse Saga by Colleen Houck. The infernal devices is good. The Graceling Series by Kristin Cashore. The Raised by wolves triology by jennifer lynn barnes. The nightshade series by andrea cremer. The selectiona dn the elite by Kiera Cass.

Christy I've read The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong. Somehow it connects with The Darkest Power's. So I stopped reading The gathering til. I got the 1st in the series to The Darkest Power's.

Just a question Christy I read the book The Gathering aaageees ago is there a sequel or something???

Christy Elekis wrote: "Christy wrote: "I've read The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong. Somehow it connects with The Darkest Power's. So I stopped reading The gathering til. I got the 1st in the series to The Darkest Power's..."

It is suppose to connect with The Summoning I heard it's really good. I have just started reading it and so far it's good. but the Gathering is the Sequel to The Darkest Power's series.

The Reckoning

Megan I love the Darkest Powers series! I still haven't read the third book in the spin-off, The Rising, but I heard it officially ties in with the characters from the Darkest Powers. So exciting :)

I second a lot of the books mentioned already like Prince of Wolves, Bloodlines, and Divergent. Also, Clockwork Princess turned out to be a really good ending. It leaves room for more in the future (not for the Infernal Devices, but for pop-ups in other books set in the Shadowhunter world)

A couple books you might like are,
Hex Hall (Hex Hall, #1) by Rachel Hawkins Born at Midnight (Shadow Falls, #1) by C.C. Hunter My Wolf's Bane by Veronica Blade Firespell (Dark Elite, #1) by Chloe Neill Elfin (The Elfin, #1) by Quinn Loftis Something Witchy This Way Comes by Veronica Blade Sweep Volume 1 (Sweep, #1-3) by Cate Tiernan Balefire (Balefire, #1-4) by Cate Tiernan

I'm glad to hear you're liking The Darkest Powers trilogy! Its one of my favorites. I finally got to reading The Rising in the spin-off that I mentioned. It was everything I hoped for and more! I forgot that it has a bit of a love triangle, but it wrapped up nicely.

Definitely put them in your TBR list! They are all really good. Most of them I've read multiple times. I'll add you so you can go through my list of read books, if you'd like. We seem to like the same things :)

Yes Right now I'm reading The Reckoning and then Then The Gathering.

Have you read the Beautiful Creatures? I just finished the 1st in the series.

Mary The Darkest MindsThe Darkest minds is an amazing book. It is thrilling and has a nice romance to it.

The 5th Wave I just finshed this one and I loved it! The romance was subtle but the rest of the book was amazing!

Black City Richards really focused on the romance in this piece but she did not neglect the rest of the book.

Wither Wither is the first book in The Chemical Garden Trilogy. While this one was a bit slow the second and third were amazing.

The Fault in Our Stars A must read! This book tore me apart. It was thought prvoking, had several really well thought of plot twists, and a great romance.

Gabby WHAT!! YOU HAVEN'T READ HARRY POTTER!??! Go read it now!
...
..
.
Why are you still here?

Christy I thought they were like idk younger people. like lil kids. but yeah I have seen ALOT of people posting about Harry Potter. I can at least try to read the 1st book and see if I like it.

message 37: by Gabby (last edited May 25, 2013 02:17AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gabby no, nononono. You read the first book and you are guaranteed to hate it. the first two books are for children. JK Rowling wanted us to grow with Harry Potter as he made his way through the books. If you don't like (at least) the fourth book, then you know you wont like the next three.

Christy Oh ok. I will give it at try. Thanks!

Rachel (APCB Reviews) I've read SO many books and have made a lot of recommendations which my friends all love, so I hope you read and enjoy at least ONE of these books!:
*recommend
**highly recommend
***PLEASE read this

***Divergent (Veronica Roth) Dystopian like Hunger Games only better
***The Infernal Devices (Cassandra Clare) prequel series to TMI, just as amazing, some like it better than TMI, beautiful setting, romance, mystery, action, drama, overall a bucket load of feelings
**The Selection (Kiera Cass) Cute dystopian romance
**Vampire Academy (Richelle Mead) Title is stupid but bear with me,
it's good: action, romance, humor, magic, paranormal
**Bloodlines (Richelle Mead) Spin-off series of Vampire Academy
**The Darkest Minds (Alexandra Bracken) Futuristic, scary, action, magic, romance, mystery, quest to complete, danger at every turn, thrilling
**Shadow Falls Series (C.C. Hunter) Paranormal, action, mystery, romance, dramatic, just amazingly good
*Legend (Marie Lu) Like the Hunger Games
*Hush, Hush (Becca Fitzpatrick) Enticing, romance, mystery, paranormal, first book is good, second one is a bore...
*Harry Potter (J. K. Rowling) a classic that everyone should read
*The Host (Stephenie Meyer) 200X better than Twilight, sci-fi and romance

Christy Rachel wrote: "I've read SO many books and have made a lot of recommendations which my friends all love, so I hope you read at least ONE of these books!:

Thanks! I'm starting Divergent now. I tried to read it a couple of months ago and couldn't I liked The Hunger Games. When I got used to her writing. I loved the Infernal Devices I still have to read Clockwork Princess though. I have read The Vampire Academy but not The Bloodlines.

I'll put The Selection and The Darkest minds on my to read list. The others I have.

Thanks again.

SHINY I also recommend Infernal devices and Mortal Instruments. ( I forgot to add these books to my first post)

Sarah Dessen isn't paranormal but she's really good,... you could try Just Listen. Same for John Green- Looking For Alaska and The Fault In Our Stars are good, and by Nina LaCour there's this non-paranormal but really good book called The Disenchantments. The Caster Chronicles (Starting with Beautiful Creatures) is a great paranormal romance.

Heather Nightshade and The mortal instrument

Amber The Beautiful Creatures series is really good. Horrible movie though. House of Night series by P.C. Cast. The Vampire Diaries, and Trusted by Taylor L. Stimac. She's a new Author. Forbidden By: Amy Miles The Arotas Trilogy

Marybeth you should read icons, 45 pounds more or less, and bitter end.
